Calloo callay oh frabjous day! Late last afternoon I had a visit from the UPS guy and he left two BIG boxes, containing this. Don't expect to be able to contact me after dark for a while...

UPDATE 02:30 PM: Naturally, it's started raining and will probably continue until the end of the week. Sigh.

Oh, man. I have so wanted one of these ever since I was a kid. I just didn't know it. My first was a 2" refractor -- mounted it on the backyard fence and looked at the rings of Saturn for the first time.

Bought it mail order from the Edmunds Scientific Company, of course, same place I got my chemistry set and my mineral collecting stuff.

I understand- I've been making do with an old Astroscan for many years but a rare confluence of events allowed me to get this. Naturally, it started raining today (we've been in the midst of a drought here) and the next clear day may be Friday :-(
